We are proud to share our experience of organising a remarkable 14-day event in Cardiff, which showcased the international aircraft maintenance competition. This event brought together 150 skilled competitors from around the world to showcase their expertise and technical skills.
The planning and execution of this event were no small feat. Our team took on various tasks, including delivering participants to the event site, coordinating the arrival and departure of planes and helicopters, managing PR and press relations, organising the closing ceremony, and overseeing strict protocols around speeches and presentations. Additionally, we were responsible for ensuring the skills conference aspect was streamed remotely to viewers accessing the content online from across the world.
However, the challenges we faced extended beyond the event logistics. Our Director, Isla, shared a personal struggle that made this event particularly difficult for her. Isla's beloved Grandad was seriously ill, and she had to leave him, knowing that he might not be there when she returned. Despite the emotional strain, Isla remained dedicated to ensuring the success of the event and creating a memorable experience for the competitors and attendees.
The event itself was a testament to the exceptional skills and dedication of the participants. Over the two weeks, competitors showcased their abilities by disassembling and reassembling helicopters and demonstrating their expertise in various technical tasks. The intensity and high stakes of the competition were evident, with 15 countries competing in the finals alone.
In conclusion, We are ftw is honoured to have been involved in the organisation of the Cardiff Aircraft Maintenance Event. Our dedication and meticulous planning allowed us to create an event that not only celebrated technical expertise but also brought together nations to share knowledge and forge lasting connections. Despite personal challenges, we remained committed to delivering a successful event, and we are proud to have contributed to its ultimate triumph.
